NJEDA visits NJAMI

Demonstration of research in digital twinning for AM.

Douglas Yorke, Sector Lead of Advanced Manufacturing for the New Jersey Economic Development Authority (NJEDA), came to visit NJAMI this Thursday. NJEDA has a mission to translate new technology into practice to stimulate the state of the economy. This involves working in partnerships with a diverse range of stakeholders to implement programs and initiatives that improve quality of life, enhance economic vitality, and strengthen New Jersey’s long-term economic competitiveness. Programs such as the NJ Manufacturing Voucher Program and the Urban Enterprise Zone Manufacturers Energy Sales Tax Exemption assist in-state manufacturers to become more competitive by making advanced equipment more accessible and decreasing energy usage costs of eligible manufacturers. The partnership between NJEDA and Rutgers has a long tradition of demonstrating innovative research. It would prove mutually beneficial for the State and for academia to develop additional grant programs for innovative manufacturing research that promise economic development.
